Fighting style: Because she is such a small child, Mairi-chan has very little melee combat ability (she's a child, you know, that kinda limits physical prowess). She lets her Summon fight for her or she casts magic from a distance.

Good Qualities: Mairi-chan is absolutely adorable, to the point that the power of her cuteness is practically a magical ability. Her magical gifts are very strong. She is utterly innocent and as such is both protected from and vulnerable to corruption. Her magic, though, is completely instinctive and untaught.

Bad Qualities: Mairi-chan is a child. She does not have the physical ability to take place personally in battle. She is also painfully unable to protect herself. She is utterly ignorant of many of the truths that those older than her have come to understand. She does not understand her own magic. She does not know how she does what she does. She is trusting to a fault. She has no understanding of the difference between Good and Evil, no comprehension of the nature of true Darkness in a willing soul. She is utterly innocent.

Appearance: Mairi-chan is a small child about 5 to 7 years of age, with cotton candy pink hair that is exceptionally long, falling almost to her chubby knees or further, and huge deep blue eyes that can melt even the hardest of hearts. She tends to wear clothing in the same color blue as her eyes, and she almost always has the sweetest, most innocent expression on her little face.

History: Mairi-chan has no memory of where she came from or who she truly is. When pressed on the matter she will reluctantly admit, with huge tears in her eyes that would make even the hardest hearted person feel like a heel for making her hurt, that she remembers fire on the walls and fire on the ceiling, but that was when Cuddles found her and Cuddles protects her. She has no memory of parents or siblings, only the fire and that she was alone.

Tiraleen found Mairi-chan under dangerous circumstances and sought to find a home for the girl elsewhere, but the little girl wormed her way into her life and refuses to leave. To be honest, Tira isn't certain she wants to give up Mairi-chan. She misses her younger siblings so desperately that the little Selkie girl seems almost like the baby sister she lost with her mother all those years before.

The truth is much more complicated because for all that Tiraleen believes that she is protecting Mairi-chan, Mairi-chan is protecting Tiraleen. Their relationship goes further than Tira can even imagine and Mairi-chan isn't certain that she wants to tell what she knows, so she feigns ignorance and enjoys being the little girl that everyone can't help but hug.

Name: Wok
Type: Frying Pan (Racket)
Element: Non-Elemental

Effect: This weapon can be used to attack in one of two ways. The base of the pan can be used to hit someone for a melee strike at short range, in which case the strength of the attack is determined by the physical strength of the attacker, or the pan can be used to "scoop" magical energy and fling it at the opponent in a manner very similar to the Rackets of Gaia that are used by Mages. In that case the strength of the attack is determined by the magical strength of the attacker, so Mages and other "caster" types tend to prefer to use this from a distance since their magical ability usually far outstrips their physical. This particular Wok is aligned to the Non-Elemental Energies and the blast of magic is tinted blue-white in color.

Description: This is a wok, an oriental frying pan, of sorts. It has a single handle that is a metal rod encased by wood attached to the side of the bowl which is black on the outside and silver on the inside. Along the rim on the outside of the bowl silver flowers are inscribed curving around and the round base of the bowl has the large image of a dogwood bloom right where it can imprint itself on the side of the head of any fool that the wielder chooses to hit with it.

History: Mairi-chan loves to cook. Whether it be cookies or something a bit more unusual, she loves the whole process of food-preparation. A wandering peddler who claimed to be of the Skillet School of Anything-Goes Martial Arts, as taught by the great Master Ukiyo, saw the little girl and gave her this wok in the hopes that she could learn to use it to its full potential. Mairi-chan, being a little girl of course, never thought of it as being a "weapon", but it quickly became her favorite "toy". Especially when she realized that she could use it to help Cuddles "play" with someone.

Name: Cuddles
Type: Light

Attacks: Cuddles prefers to use his fangs and his claws to take down most opponents if possible.

Normal: Mystic Fire – Cuddles breathes a stream of Light-Elemental flame from his open jaws to burn those who anger him. The strike is on par with a normal attack for a Summon of his strength.
Magic: Mystic Shield – Cuddles puts himself between his Summoner and the threat and summons a Light-Elemental barrier to protect them both from one oncoming magical attack.
Extreme: Mystic Burst – Cuddles roars with fury and sends a blast of Light-elementall flame to envelope the battlefield, striking all those within 20 feet of the impact with magical damage attuned to his element.

Description: Cuddles is not the word that would normally come to mind as the name of the huge creature that stands guard over Mairi-chan's child-form. The monstrous Summon Beast is vaguely catlike, with thick, soft fur in a royal blue color and all the feline features except for the great feathered wings that sprout from his back. He appears to be nothing less than an overgrown panther on steroids with wings. When he is not in combat, though, Cuddles can choose to take the form of a small, winged cat to mirror the child-shape that his Summoner has. In order to enter combat, though, Cuddles must be brought into his true shape through the Summoning magic that binds him.

History: Cuddles first appeared to Mairi-chan to save her from a burning building. Mairi-chan claims to be completely unaware of just what Cuddles is, and she might be telling the truth. The child-Mairi certainly seems to show signs of willful amnesia about just what she was doing there, and how long it has been since that day. When pressed on the issue, she will simply say that Cuddles doesn't like it when she remembers because it makes her cry. Not making Cuddles unhappy is a matter of vital importance to those who interact with Mairi-chan because Cuddles has been known to "play" rather rough.

I don't have a good one for the Summoned Form.

As part of changes to Mairi's character, Cuddles is no longer able to be Summoned. The reasons are complicated, but come down to a simple fact. Cuddles was always a part of Mairi. He was cut away from her very soul as a protector and a guardian. She has taken steps that mean that she doesn't need him anymore, and so has rejoined the two halves of her essence.

Name: Tiss-tiss
Description: Mairi-chan leans over her injured target and puts a baby kiss on the injury. Energy flows from her, through the contact, and into her target, causing the injury to heal. She then straightens and smiles, usually clapping with delight because it worked.

History: Mairi-chan's magic is completely untaught and is governed by only the most basic of understandings. She doesn't even know that what she's doing is magic. It's just the way things work to her. Any child knows that a kiss can heal all wounds, and so for Mairi-chan, a kiss can truly heal wounds.

Name: Aw Bedder?
Description: Mairi-chan looks at her target who is afflicted with some status injury and her eyes grow round with concern and fill with tears. She runs forward and wraps her arms around the target (or as far around as her arms will reach, she is *very* small) hugging them for a moment. Magical energy flows from her to the target and when she straightens she smiles and asks if they are "all better".

History: Mairi-chan's magic is completely untaught and is governed by only the most basic of understandings. She isn't even aware that what she is doing is magic. This is just the way the world is in her understanding. She knows that she feels better when she is hugged, so her logic is that a hug can help even the worst day perk up a bit and make someone feel stronger.

Name: Hugs 'n' Tisses
Description: Mairi wraps her little arms around her target and kisses them on the cheek, causing the magical energy to flow from herself into her target, healing them of their injuries and making them feel better in an all around sort of way.

Name: Lotsa Tisses
Description: Mairi runs up to her injured target and wraps her arms around them, planting little-kid kisses on whatever appendage she has managed to grab hold of. Magical energy fills the air around them, traveling from Mairi in a purely unconscious way and into her target to heal them of their injuries and making them feel better in general.

Name: Wake Up!
Description: Mairi-chan runs up to a fallen target and hugs the body, or whatever part of it she can reach, and tells them to wake up, which they do, usually. Provided, of course, that the entity has enough of an "echo" to answer the call back to the world of the living.

History: Mairi is . . . a most unusual child. She is most certainly not like other Mages, or other Summoners for that matter. She uses magic, but on a completely subconscious level. She is not aware that she is using magic, nor that she even has the ability. Mairi has the power to make the innocent seem feasible, and worth defending. She is a miracle and a mystery that cannot be contained. She does not know what "Death" is. To her it is simply a form of sleep which mutes the sound that life makes within a body. So long as she can still hear that echo that binds a fallen body to the escaped soul, she can call the two back into union. All she has to do is tell them to "wake up".

Name: Wings of the Angel
Magic: None, but must be activated
Effect: Mairi-chan grows a pair of feathery wings that match her hair in color. The wings enable her to fly. They are small, cherubic wings to match her child-guise.
Past: There is more to Mairi-chan than meets the eye. She seems to be a helpless child, and most of the time she is, but sometimes she grows a set of wings and some hint of her true nature begins to come through. Just what that true nature is . . . is anyone's guess.

Name: Make-Up
Magic: None, but must be activated
Effect: Mairi has learned to Shape herself and others in a manner similar to Aurora's innate ability. She can alter coloration such as hair, eyes and skin tone. She can alter the shape of certain features like ear length or such or the number of fingers on a hand. She can add fins, but they are purely ornamental and have no actual effect on speed while swimming. All alterations are purely matters of appearance and have no effect on abilities or anything else. Any targets of the ability can choose to change back to their natural appearance at will.
Past: Tiraleen left Aurora playing with Mairi one day while she went to see to some matters with the First World. When she got back the little girl came running up to greet her, only Mairi had pointed ears, cat-slit green eyes, yellow striped skin, and spots in her blue-tinted hair. Mairi thought it was fun to look like a kitty-cat and really couldn't explain how she'd changed herself. After that day, though, she could apply Make-Up to anyone. She had lots of fun with playing with colors on all three of them until they decided to change back.

Name: Pockets of Holding
Magic: None, passive
Effect: Pockets are extra dimensional spaces that allow her to carry more items with her than would normally be possible. Nothing flashy, just pockets that are bigger on the inside than on the outside and carry no noticeable weight. She can pull from these pockets just about any random item imaginable that could be needed for plot or situational purposes.
Past: Mairi has pockets. Usually this is only a problem for little boys, but in Mairi's case what ends up in her pockets isn't anything living . . . but it could be just about ANYTHING. She's also a Selkie though, so chances are sometimes what she's got wasn't always something she obtained with permission. Normally, though, her pockets wouldn't be large enough to carry anything dramatic. Mairi's pockets, though, seem to be somehow bottomless and she's always pulling the ODDEST stuff out of them. It would likely be safe to suggest that even SHE doesn't know what all is in her pockets.

Name: Funny Voices
Magic: None, but must be activated
Effect: Mairi can alter her voice to sound like any thing she wishes and she can make her voice sound as if it were coming from any location within 40 feet. However, if she takes care with the volume of the sound that she is producing, then it can actually sound to listeners as if it were coming from much further away. The sound, though, must have a point of origin within that 40 foot radius of Mairi.
Past: One day Mairi decided to go visit the Empress of Ivalice, one of the most beautiful women she had ever seen. Empress Yukina and Mairi played a game while she was there where they made themselves look different and went to scare the guards. Yukina changed her voice to sound exactly like that of a tiger. The display of ability so impressed Mairi that she learned how to do something very similar, only with a slight twist. Mairi added the ventriloquist feature.

Name: All Grown-Up!
Magic: None, but must be activated
Effect: Mairi grows up! Seriously, though, her body grows and gains the mass and form of a young woman of roughly seventeen years of age. When this Enchantment and Wings of the Angel are activated then her wings are fully the size and shape of adult angelic wings, though they are still pink like her hair . . . unless she's altered them with her use of Make-Up. Her understanding and mannerisms change to match her years . . . to an extent. She is still *very* sheltered and innocent and wholly unknowing of how dangerous it can be for her to be all-grown-up and unable to fight for herself. This is intended to be a matter of appearance more than combat-readiness, though she is fully as mature as any other late-teen while in this shape.
Past: Mairi-chan . . . has always had more secrets to her than she has ever let be known. She has incredible magic and even more incredible potential. She used that magic to make herself grown-up like Tira and like Aurora, and caught herself unawares by some of the mental and hormonal changes that took place when she used the ability for the first time. Still, she wanted this and so her magic provided it for her whether she truly understood what it was that she was seeking . . . or not.

Name: Glowy Eyes
Magic: None, passive
Effect: Allows Mairi-chan to speak telepathically to anyone she wishes in the same thread, or to any of her group (Tira or Yuna) no matter where they are located. If she does this to bring someone into a thread, then they must be on the same world or be either Tira or Yuna or Aurora (NPC).
Past: Mairi-chan liked the way Aurora could talk to her without using her voice. She always thought that it was the funniest ability and she would giggle at some of the things Aurora would say when someone was being pompous and arrogant and Aurora didn't want him to hear her. When she met the Wolfmother, though, and saw someone else who could do that same thing, Mairi decided that she wanted to be able to do it too. Just how she learned is one of the mysteries of her magic. The name of the ability comes from the tendency of those who are adept at the ability to have a noticeable glow (sometimes more slight than others) to their eyes when using it.
