Real Name: Emile Voron
Nickname/Assumed Name: Raven
Age: 30
Race: Al-Bhed
Gender: Male
Home World: Midgar
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Class: Gunner
SubClass: Gadgeteer
Elements:
Mastered: Earth
Secondary: Darkness
Tertiary: Non-Elemental
Fighting Style: Emile tends to think tactically when faced with a tough situation. He likes to plan each move before he makes it. Unlike many gunners, though, Emile isn't afraid of getting up-close to the enemy. If this happens, he'll just switch to his shotgun or pull out his knife. Over all he is at home at medium to long range.
Affinities: Emile is at his best when he has time to stop and think things out. He often times becomes obsessed with finding out all the information he can about someone before he tries to fight them. Believing that the only way to defeat his enemy is to know ALL of their weaknesses.
Good Qualities Emile is a master of blowing stuff up. He can judge the perfect amount of explosives to blow anysized hole through a wall. He is also adept at using tech to splice into computers and other machines, that he... really isn't supposed to be doing. When things get to close to use explosives, though, Emile can pull out his knife or shotgun with equal efficiency.
Bad Qualities: Emile does not believe in magik and therefore refuses to recognise it for his own uses. He will not get any help from magik. His summons and forms will just be gadgets and allies. He also won't have weapon enchantments, as he believes them magik.
Personality: Emile does not like people that much, especially those who use magik. Since he was ambushed, he acts hostile towards anyone who uses magik to hurt others. He will ally with spell-casters but will never really trust them. He only will deal with people if he has to and even then he usually pushes them away. He is also a bit of a cynic and has a dark sense of humor. He is often direct and blunt which leads him into trouble sometimes. He never lies and tells everything straight up, not worrying about how it effects others. This doesn't mean he will go out and blurt everyone's secrets (He knows what its like to have dark secrets), but if asked for advice he won't sugar coat it.
Though fully aware and confident of his abilities, Emile understands that his survival has often been a gift of chance. He knows he is human and fallible, and he does not want to die. Highly-trained, skilled and experienced, Emile possesses a distinctly dark sense of humor, which he uses to control his fears and keep himself calm while in the field. Emile is abrasive and honest, and has little patience for niceties and even less for lies, especially when the immediate problem presents itself. Unlike younger operatives, he is not a blind idealist.
But in order to achieve the discipline required for his work, Emile has had to bury certain aspects of himself. His ability to detach himself emotionally from the immediate situation in order to better achieve his objectives is an exceptional attribute. Though, on rare occasions, his emotions have been known to surface. A man of few words, he is truly himself only when he is on the job – he has, in a sense, become what he does. He has little left to prove to the world and he has no interest in glory. If he fights, it is because he believes he is capable of provoking positive change.
Update: After the events in Santa's workshop, Raven's mind is unstable. His mind constantly teeters on a razors edge between the cool professional that he usually is and the psychotic murderer that has manifested inside his head. This psycho is completly self aware that he is on an RP forum site and that a kid controls his destiny.
Appearance:Emile stands 6'3 tall and weighs abot 150 lbs. He is very muscular due to the severe training he had to undergo. He has black hair that is cut in a military crew cut. He has one green eye that betrays his Al-Bhed heritage but also has one hazel eye, which he got through surgery. He has a scar on his left eye from the surgery, also. He has burns across most of his body from where he was burned from the gasoline and a scar from where he was shot in the stomache (see history). When Emile is not on a mission, he wears woodland BDU pants and a olive drab green turtle neck. When he is in the field on a mission, he wears his Enhanced Battle Suit. This armor allows him to tap into his SOLDIER programing, that was installed in him when the accident happened.
Update: No longer does Raven wear the EBS constantly. After getting reconstructed in Santa's workshop, Raven can now walk free of the suit. Instead, now he wears a leather/kevlar suit (shown in the picture below)specialy crafted to do everything that the old EBS did, without being as bulky and noticeable. He also looks as he would if the disastrous mission never happened. Both his eyes are now a dark green now though.
[b]History: At age 15, Emile ran away from home to join the military. He quickly rose through the ranks. His superiors saw his potential and placed him in a special unit to combat a new threat to the Midgar. Being a kid and not having anything else to do he accepted. He went through a qualifications course and placed in a special ops unit within the Turks. He was in that unit for six years before the mission that changed his life.
The mission was supposed to be a simple assassination. He trained with his team for a week for the mission before they were ready. They were not told who their target was, just where he would be and that he was a threat to the government. He suited up and prepared for his mission. They inserted at night in a dark field a mile away from their target. They got into the camp and snuck into the target's tent. Everything was going great... until they reached the target's chamber. The target was nowhere to be seen. Out of nowhere spells were being flung. Emile's men were cut down in seconds and he was badly injured. He watched through his scope, not able to do a thing about it. The last thing he remebered was a burning sensation on his back and a shadowy figure leaning over him.
When he woke up he was changed. He had a new eye to replace his old left one, which his attackers had taken as a trophy. He had a suit on that kept control over his body temperature. He was introduced to a government agent who would only introduce himself as The Director. He told him that what happened and that he was reborn. He was now apart of the SplinterOp program and that he was the first of many agents to go through the program.
The training took six months. Emile went through extremely rigorous and very extensive training necessary in his conditioning to serve in the covert war of, Information Warfare. From hand-to-hand combat, interrogation resistance, explosives handling and defusal, moderate computer hacking (cryptography), covert intelligence gathering (special recon), advanced stealth tactics (concealment, infiltration techniques, exfiltration, silent movement, and silent combat on a solo operating scale), to advanced escape and evasion methods, among many other useful skills vital too their survival in the field. In the end Emile was covert warrior that only left traces if he wanted to. He assumed a new name, given to him by the Agency. He was now, Raven. He did missions for the Agency for several years until the second most important mission of his life happened.
Emile was sent on another assassination mission to Zanarkand. He was after a gang of mercenaries who supposedly wanted for crimes against Midgar and no one else could catch them. The Director decided that the SplinterOps were the perfect team for the job. Instead of sending just one, though, he sent two as the first ever SplinterOp joint strike team. The team consisted of Emile and another new recruit named John Macmilan. They touched down outside the city and got in contact with their informant inside the city. The informant told them where the target was hiding and where they could take the shot from. The informant would then draw the target into the open so the team could kill him. The Team got into position and watched as the informant got their target to come outside. Emile fired his rifle and killed the man in one shot. The informant grabbed the laptop that they needed and they all made a run for the city limits. They had to fight off many mercenaries on the way and as soon as they had the laptop in their hands, the informant disapeared.
They made it to the extraction point and Emile was running through the ruins as explosions went off around him. He and John held off the charging mercs until the airship arrived. John went to make a run for it but was shot in the leg. Now Emile was dragging John behind him as fast as he could as he tried to make it to the safty of the soldiers coming off the airship. An explosion from a rocket went off next to him and knocked him off his feet. As he stood back up, he could hear nothing but the sharp ringing in his ears. The world swirled around him for a moment and, for a few seconds, seemed to stop. Then, it all came back to him, the soldiers who got off the helicopter were past him now, and were holding off the mercenaries.
Emile picked up John and together they limped the rest of the way to the helicopter. When they got there, the Director was getting off and coming to meet them. "Do you have the laptop?" Emile reached into his backpack and pulled it out. He handed it off to The Director with a nod. The Director looked at it briefly and then looked back at the two. He put his hand on John's shoulder and said, "Great job! The both of you. You did such a great job that I regret that I have to say this, but the Agency is no longer in need of your services."
A crack resounded and Emile went cold. He looked down at his stomache and there was a bullet hole through it. He slouched back and fell with John. As he landed he saw John struggle to pull out his pistol. The world slowed down again as The Director turned and brought his pistol up to aim at John's head. There was another Crack!
Emile blacked out.
Emile felt very, very cold. He could not feel the soldiers pick him up and throw him in the ditch. He tried to scream, but nothing came out. He tried to try and tell the soldiers that he was still alive, but he could not force the words out of his mouth. Then they threw John ontop of him and Emile was forced to look at John's cold dead eyes and see the bullet wound in his head. He saw the soldiers pooring gasoline on them and when the gas was finnished The Director stepped back in. He walked over Emile and said, "And to think I went through all that trouble to make you who you are today." He stepped back and snapped his fingers. Instantly, a small flame appeared in his hand and he looked at it a moment, almost like he was contemplating throwing it or not. But he flicked it anyway and it landded right on Emile. The gasoline errupted and he could finally scream...
When Emile awoke, he was in a laboratory several hundred feet below the ground. He quickly learned that the only reason he was still alive was that his informant came back for him. The informant took him to her lab and used one of Garland's gizmos to fix him up. The informant was so distressed about losing an old friend, she threw him in the first machine she found that she thought would help. The machine radiated him with Mako. The end result was that he was brought back from near death and was now one of Midgar's genetically engineered SOLDIERs, without actually being a in the program. He then built a new suit to help him tap into the SOLDIER powers, since he could not on his own due to the extent of the damages done during the mission. As soon as he could, Emile left the underground lab to strike out on the world. Vowing vengence on the Agency. And thats where it all starts off at...
