Name: Bikou

Race: Desert Baretta

Age: 7 yrs old

Element: Earth (primary) + Non-Elemental (secondary)

Personality: Bikou is very aggressive. This 'black' Baretta like all Desert Baretta is very intimidating when bounding at anyone with its heavily armored body. It is wary of strangers causing it to be even more aggressive than the average wild Baretta. This can be confusing as many people would not understand the difference when Bikou just wants to play and when it is fully attacking an opponent. Now fully grown, it still thinks it is young and often tries to squeeze through small openings causing it to get stuck. Aside from this, Bikou is actually very intelligent.

Fighting Style: Desert Baretta attack by biting with their powerful jaws, scratching with their razor sharp teeth and ramming their hard-thorny-scaly protective shells into opponents. They, like other quadrupedal hunters generally aim for the neck when biting (hunting) to bring down their prey.

Abilities -

Being a Baretta which lives in the desert, Bikou is immune to the elemental magic of its natural environment.

Magical Attributes -
Earth-Eater: Earth elemental attacks heal rather than do damage. However, damage from wind elemental attacks are tripled.
Ice-Weakness: Takes double damage from ice-elemental attacks.
Water-Weakness: Takes double damage from water-elemental attacks.

Statistical Attributes -
High Phys. Resistance: Takes 50% Less damage from physical attacks.
High Magic Resistance: Takes 50% Less damage from magical attacks.
Slow - Movement speed and Evasion are always reduced by 50% (Constant 'slow' status; cannot be buffed with the 'haste' status).

Description: Bikou is unlike all other Baretta. While most Baretta are green with red-shell-like hides during their youth which turns golden as they mature, Bikou has always had a black shell and much darker skin than most of his counter-parts. This serves to distinguish him in the desert from other Barettas so no one attacks him. However, the reason he was born a different colour from all other Barettas is a mystery to everyone.

History: Bikou was found as a wild random encounter by Elisud and Estelle during one of their excursions into the desert surrounding their home-city. During the encounter, the two knights noticed that this Baretta was different from all others they had ever encountered and thus instead of slaying the beast they coaxed it into a trap.

Bikou was examined by the Monster Hunters of the city, however no explanation could be given as to why it was different from other Baretta in the wild. It behaved the same way and had all the same elemental affinities of all other Baretta. The only exception was that it had a black hide rather than the usual 'desert gold'.

Elisud and Estelle took great pains to tame the great beast and eventually it came to trust them as much as any monster would trust humans. Now the two knights keep it as something of a pet. However it's thick spines prevent it from being used as a 'mount' and even if it were, the naturally slow pace of Baretta would make walking faster than riding it.

Bikou = "To stalk"; "To tail"; "To shadow" someone.

On Elements - There were no 'wind' element spells in FF 1 however there was Quake which did little-to-nothing against Barettas. So Ice-element damage is suppose to be triple; however because of how the current elements work wind is earth's weakness so yeah.

However I would like it to be -

Earth Eater - Earth attacks heal but Ice does 3x damage
Nul-Fire - Fire attacks do nothing but water attacks do 2x damage

since Barettas have nothing to do with the wind element. >>;

Ok then first you need to pick one or the other when dealing with a null or eater effect. We forgot to put the rules up for such things, but I like for any one being to have only one of either abilities due to how if I allowed more people could resist a lot of elements with it.

As for the high defense and high magic defense....the speed drop of 50% covers one of them but you need to either take out or balance out the other. Drop its attack strength or something to make it into a kind of living wall.

Well, actually - how it was supposed to work was because it has high HP, high Phys. Def and high Mag. Def; someone would need to use the spell that it's weak to in order to damage it significantly. Of which there are three, Wind, Water and Ice.

However, the monster has 2 stats lowered. Evasion AND speed are both reduced by 50%. So it is a tank monster. It even says so on the wiki page. Also, there is a weakness to ice that has no positive counter-balance. I put this there for 'fairness' to spell casters.

x 3 Wind Element Weakness
x 2 Ice Element Weakness
x 2 Water Element Weakness

-50% Speed
- Cannot be 'Hasted'

Which I think is more than fair. I have six weaknesses and only 3 positive buffs.

If you still want me to take them out then it'll look like this -

+Buffs -
Absorbs Earth Element
+50% Magic Resistance.

-Debuffs -
x3 Wind Element Weakness
-50% Evasion

That's two buffs and two de-buffs. So which would you prefer?

Either one you want of those two, I don't care as long as there is only one eater or null in effect and the buffs are balanced out.
