Name: Dark Comet
Description & Effect:
When Dark Comet is cast, Yevon builds up Dark Energy into his spade.
Channeling it all into the blade, it fires straight up, into the sky.
Seconds later, a pitch-black, perfectly round sphere falls from the
sky, burning with a violet flame. Now, one of two things can happen. If
unaltered, the Dark Comet will fall unaltered, with a slight tracking
ability toward its opponent. If the Dark Comet is stricken, however, it
will split into many smaller comets. When this occurs, their speed and
tracking ability increases greatly, but each sphere is less powerful,
and all must hit to do the original damage (A rare occurence, even with
the added speed).

Range: Long Range. VERY long range.
Duration: 2 turns. One for the Casting and initial fall, one for the impact.
History: Spells of the astral plane were commonplace in Zanarkand. Mages would put on spectacular shows by casting Comets at each other, and Yevon, being PARTICULARLY proficinet at Astral Magic, would often aid in the grand finale. When the ancient machina war began, Yevon taught the mages to imbue the Comets with elements, he himself creating a comet filled with the hatred that war created, so that he could LITERALLY rain down anger upon his foes.
