Shade Leonhart Empty
PostSubject: Shade Leonhart   Shade Leonhart EmptyOctober 15th 2010, 12:16 am

Name:[/font] Shade Leonheart

Age: 19, but does appear older due to her maturity

Race: Human…. unless “Grumpass” is a Race in itself

Gender: Female

Home World: Balamb garden (a bit in the future obviously)

Class: Sorceress

Sub-Class: Knight

Elemental Mastery:
Wind

Weapons
Only two Swords
((is a duel wielder))

Fighting style:
Shade prefers her blades at best, until the required adjustments are made her crossbow.

Good qualities:
Shade is a very loyal to anyone that is lucky enough to become her friend and this is most evident in how protective she is of Brix and Jayda. If anyone was to harm them she would ensure that the person dies an extremely painful death, and the same could be said about her other friends, but the two girls are the most important ones to her as even sisters would be. She’s swift and calculating, and due to her placid personality, she gives no hint to her actions until they come into play. She holds an extremely close bond to her Summons, treating them with high regard rather than just tools for battle.

Along side her SeeD training, Shade is a warrior and battle-hardened, even if she has her social problems. She is physically practiced and agile in combat, using her speed and maneuverability to her advantage.
In a fight Shade is quite deadly more so with her GF’s ((Guardian Forces)) rather than her spells, yet could easily turn a person into a pile of smoking cinders. While her range attacks are ok, such a skill could use some improvements, but are still enough to make anyone fear getting caught in a rain of arrows.

Bad qualities:
She doesn't get along well with others, with a few notable exceptions. She’s not good with interacting with people be it through small talk, or any show of affection even down to a simple smile or hug due to her past history of suffering. She cannot stand crowds or noisy gatherings of any kind, preferring anything that offers peace and solitude when she’s not having to fight.

She also has a bit of a temper, that if roused, one will surely pay the price. She's also easy to pin into a bad situation due to her loyalty to her friends which would lead her to give herself up to save them.

Her defenses against magic or physical blows leave much to be desired, reason being, she despises armor. Shade hates the feeling of restriction and sacrifices the added protection simply to keep herself to move more freely about when in battle.

Fighting wise she hates to deal with range attackers that are fast due to how their speed keeps them away from her while their range attacks are hard to counter due to her need to train in using her ranged weapons more. Also while her powers are great her control over them is shaky at times due to the trauma she has suffered as well as the lack of proper training in controlling her sorceress powers. So at time she could loose control of them. Further more if one could cut her off from using her Sunnons she would be at a great disadvantage.

Affinities Neutral. Now she's not going to run off and kill people to meet her means, but if she’s got to break a law or two she’s not going to lose any sleep over it.

Appearance:
She’s about 5’4”, good build, I suppose. Not one to prissy herself up. Shade isn't much about appearance and finds it frivolous and pointless to worry about. She stands at 5’ 3” , dark hair with amber highlights that seems to have a mind of its own. Eyes are a piercing steel gray. Pictures included to show anything else

History:

Shade struggles with a surfeit of high expectations. She was born the daughter of Squall Leonhart and Rinoa Heartilly, and that pretty well started the issues. Although when alive, her parents were sure to shield her from what everyone else expected, wanting their daughter to thrive upon her own persona and abilities. Yet the situation turned when she lost her parents in an explosion when she was only five years old. Everyone expected her to follow in their footsteps and serve the world, but she just wants to survive and find out who she really is. She, just like her father before her, doesn't want to carry anyone else's burdens.

Naturally, she was enrolled in Balamb Garden, in part because she was an orphan and in part because
she was Squall's daughter, and proceeded to distinguish herself, resenting the whole charade the entire way. Some days she wants to take charge over situations so she can do it right, but most of the time she just wants to run away because she's sick of being reminded that’s she’s her father's daughter, because she is her father's daughter.

Shade's Balamb was influenced by an unknown chaos-inducing hand and foreign technology that was made available to a group of anarchists who call themselves "Fringe". They used it to mount the attacks which claimed the lives of her parents, and the rest of the heroes of the Sorceress War. She is transported to another version of her world she knew as home by a mishap in trying to destroy the source of the damage, a device known as the Extractor. Such a device was used to extract one's powers and unique abilities, yet killing one in the process.

Such was used against her mother and how Shade witnessed Rinoa’s death before her very eyes at the age of five. Unfortunately, before her capture, Rinoa was faced with a decision she never knew would fall upon her shoulders. Should this newfound enemy obtain the Sorceress powers she acquired from the previous war with Squall and the others, they would no doubt be used to destroy the world as Ultimecia sought out to do. Her only option left was to pass them onto her daughter. A burden far to much to bear for a child. After said transfer, Rinoa rushed Shade off to flee and find her father while remaining behind to give her daughter time to escape. What Shade witnessed will forever be burned into her memories, but Shade will never speak of it.

Once Squall found Shade running for the dilapidated lighthouse orphanage, it was there he hid her within the cellars before facing the perusing enemy. It is believed he placed a sleep spell over Shade as being the only explanation as to why she doesn't remember anything after he hid her. All that was found left behind was his shattered Gunblade across the ground and his Griever pendant around his daughter's neck.

As expected, Cid and Edea Karamer took Shade in as their own, as they did with a few others. All attended Balamb Garden and naturally trained in the SeeD program as their parents before them, and with the same expectations as their parents achieved. As stated, Shade excelled, but did not take to kindly to comparisons. During those years, Cid set out a desperate plan of action, sending his top researchers, along with those of the remaining Gardens to seek out and obtain what remnants of Ultimecia's attempted time compression scattered about the world. It was his hope that such could be used to develop a controlled time traveling portal to send a team back into time to stop the Fringe's initial attack all together. Whatever the consequences to such an action, many fully agreed could not be as horrid as the millions of deaths already suffered.

The time came, and the team was chosen. Shade Leonhart, Brix Dincht, Jayda and Vex Kinneas. Each with their own expectations, or having none at all. Just as the moment was upon then to take the first step, the lab came under attack and the team had no choice but to proceed on. True, they were taken to the previous time intended, but within a different dimension all together and to several worlds "this" Balamb coexisted with. The team was also separated, as Shade awakened alone and within a city called Midgar, which was the start of countless missions thereafter, yet none leading her to any clues as to how to return home.

During her tolerance within the previous realm, Shade was faced with situations no training of any kind could’ve ever prepared her for. Especially for the escapades one Tifa Lockhart would drag her into. Having to stomach Sephiroth’s drunken dancing in the 7th Heaven was tragic enough, but Tifa’s heart was set on something more challenging to Sephiroth’s mansion as well as seeing Shade getting flat assed drunk.

Bernhardt Rhodes was an unexpected companion of various tricks. His eagerness and reckless abandon to the finer details of planning led Shade to nearly choke him at every turn. Especially when he led her to believe he died beneath a collapsed mansion after their first mission, leading Shade to carry the burden that she was at fault for his demise. Rhodes more than made up for the trials he put her through upon his revealed return. He presented Shade with one remarkable baby squirrel born from a littler his own magical Skitt had sired, as well as creating Shade her own sports motorcycle which also uses the hover ability.

One Genesis Rhapsodos was a most unexpected encounter. Although a puzzle to many, or simply judged mentally insane, Shade seems to find a natural understanding of Midgar’s poetic SOLDIER. What few random encounters of the past, at best the two are either civil with one another, or blades eventually come to a blow. Yet as unstable of a friendship one may judge from their confrontations, Shade would never regret having once saving Genesis, even though he would deny such an “ACT” from happening until his dying breath.

Amongst the countless people that have crossed her path, one mission led her mind stripped of everything by Garland, leading her sorceress powers out of control and to regrettable actions Shade struggles with even after reclaiming her sanity.

During Shade’s turmoil suffering through Garland’s aftermath, another foreigner crossed her path that led Shade into rather comical situations that she still refuses to acknowledge to this day. Mainly an event that, although served at returning her memories to her, led herself to be reverted back to her child state both mentally and physically due to the discovery of a Fountain of Youth within another world. To this day, Kaleb still tries to throw Shade into unexpected situations, determined to see her crack a simple smile.

Shade eventually reunited with her teammates, save for Vex Kinneas whom they have yet to find. She still has a promise to serve to one Bernhardt Rhodes, the chaos dealings of one Raven Voron, the energetic Kaleb Hall who finds it necessary for some odd reason for Shade to face her oppressed emotions, the persistent connection she seems to have with Genesis Rhapsodos, and where the previous realm led to crossing paths with Squall, this realm now forces Shade to coincide with the younger version of her mother and the unfortunate company she keeps.

Unfortunately, Shade still has yet to find herself, or her own path in life, and instead finds herself unexpectedly serving others as they call upon her. All the while, Shade keeps to herself and the secret truth she hides to keep all others safe until the day comes when she has to face it on her own and come to a decision of her own inevitable fate. She still thrives to keep to herself and shut off whatever emotions that plague her in order to press on.

WEAPON

Name: Wolf’s Bane

Type: Sword

Element: N/A

Effect: The only unique effect of the Wolf’s Bane are the curved metal teeth encasing the sides of the blade from top to bottom that can eject or be retracted by a small lever beneath the hilt of the blade.

Long/Short range: Short

Description: The weapon’s steel blade is basically simple and plain in design. As said before, Shade hates anything fancy if it doesn’t serve a purpose. It’s big. It’s sharp. It causes bleeding.

The hilt has been customed sized to Shade’s hand for better maneuverability and the leather strapping was added for better grip. Beneath the hilt (not visible) is the lever to the Wolf’s Bane effect.

History: As said before, this is in no way a replica of the Gunblade, although the remnants of what was found of the Gunblade have been forged as the encasing teeth to the weapon and what fragments remained was fused into the blade. The weapon wasn’t presented to Shade until she was older and Cid felt for sure she was ready to use it.

SPELLS

Name:
Fujita Pulse ((since the concept of the spell was the same, I placed the 3 strength versions into one template. If it should be seperate, I can edit.))

Description & Effect:
As Shade conjures her energy, winds begin to erupt in her vacinity. A small "devil duster" will appear and look completely harmless. In a matter of seconds, the winds grow in size and strength exactly like a tornado. Just as tornados themselves range in size and strength, so does the spell itself depending on the purpose of it's use at the time.

Depending on the strength of winds, ranging from F1 to F6 scale of tornado strength, Shade uses this spell to manipulate the air currents. This particular spell is the offensive aspect of her wind abilities, used to either surround the target with powerful force winds to slow them down, or press them down with the increasing wind pressure. Airborn targets would be caught by the whipping currents and either loose control of their flight, or be brought down to the ground all together.

Such wind strength would also hold the same ability to lift and/or throw various projectiles much like tornados themselves. Depending on the weight or distance of said objects ((which depends on the battle setting)) determines what the possibilities of various projectiles can be controlled by the spell. If full F6 wind strength is used, a small town would be flattened to its foundation within minutes

AP/MP Cost:
F1-F2 = Light Damage ((60AP))
F3-F4 = Moderate to Heavy damage ((120MP))
F5-F6 = Massive to Severe damage ((180MP))

Class: Offensive

Element: Wind

Range: Long Range
